I began my professional journalism career in Ketchikan, Alaska working for the Ketchikan Daily News as a government reporter. While my official beat was government, I was also in charge of covering health care, business, technology and anything else that came my way. I helped maintain the paper's website and took the occasional photograph. I completed my master of journalism degree at the University of Maryland, where I reported for American Journalism Review, Capital News Service and freelanced for several area news organizations.
I'm an avid reader. Give me a book and I will be your friend for life. Better yet, invite me to San Diego Comic Con and we'll be friends forever.
I love spending time outdoors hiking, running, and camping.
